We are
Panama Folklore
History
It arises from the union of ideas and projects of Lisbeth Batista and Tayra Lan, who on October 10, 2008 in Panama City, decided to found and unite two words: Panama Folklore.
One of the projects to develop was the creation of a group that would represent the country in international festivals, since both were dancers who had traveled and enjoyed the experience of cultural exchange.
This is how they began the process to obtain invitations and in March 2009, they invited friends and acquaintances, who were musicians and dancers, to participate in this project that they called Panama Folklore Group.
As a result of this union of those interested in being part of the group, they organized the first pro-travel activity, which took place on May 16, 2009 in my Pueblito Interiorano called Folklore Gala. Activity that allowed them to raise funds to cover part of the costs of the Panama Folklore Group's first trip. Trip that took place in the month of July 2009 to Spain as a Cultural Mission by the INAC, former National Institute of Culture. In that first opportunity to participate in an international festival, 23 members traveled, including musicians, dancers and director, who upon their return decided to continue with the intention of traveling every year. This is how these members who carried out the first Spain 2009 mission committed to continue supporting and being a formal part of the Panama Folklore Group. These members were calledfounders members.
