August 14, 2018 is an iconic date for Panama and for the Panama Folklore Group, since the beauty of the art of Panamanian hands such as the skirts and the pintao hat arrived at the Pyramids of Egypt. Two outstanding elements of our folklore clothing.
The Panama Folklore Group, in collaborative work with the Embassy of Panama in Egypt, the work of the chargé d'affaires Lic. Julissa De Hoyos and the cultural attaché Haydee Villarreal, managed to get the Panamanian skirts to the historic and imposing Pyramids of Egypt.
The creation and realization of the folkloric event was the inspiration of Lisbeth Batista - Director of the Panama Folklore Group with the objective of creating ties of cultural exchange, promoting respect, tolerance and cultural diplomacy. It is a way to unite cultures and create bonds of love through artistic manifestations.
This opportunity occurs within the framework of our presentation at the Ciudadale in Cairo, which occurs for the first time in history, that a Panamanian folklore group performs in Egypt, the Panama Folklore group and the exhibition of the Panamanian skirt in the ancient pyramids of Giza in El Cairo in 2018, thanks to the management of Cultural Diplomacy between the governments of Egypt and Panama.
